Anyanwu was abducted on Tuesday morning, November 22, 2022 while on his way to finalise arrangements for his booth agents in Ahiazu.  Sources close to the party told the publication that some gunmen waylaid the APGA candidate on his way to see his booth agents. "We call on security agents to track them. We call on the public who might have any useful information to inform any nearby police station. Just happened around 9.00am today, Tuesday, 22nd November 2022,"  the source said.
