This is Chuks Elekwachi, a Nigerian athlete participating in the ongoing Tokyo Olympics. A clip has emerged online showing the USA based athlete washing his jersey in preparation for the finals. It was later discovered that he was given only one jersey which he had been wearing since the beginning of the tournament.
He usually washed the jersey after each match.

Meanwhile, Puma had provided kits worth millions of dollars for Nigerian athletes participating in the Tokyo Olympics but the officials abandoned it and went to buy the kits from the market so as to cut deals.

It was indeed a National embarrassment. Chuks later went ahead to win medal in the Shot put event.

However , Puma has since terminated its sponsorship contract with Nigeria with immediate effect following the incident
