Chairman of Lagos State Park and Garages Management Musiliu Akinsanya aka MC Oluomo has debunked reports that he threatened the Igbo in Lagos who would not vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC). Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the APC is seeking re-election on Saturday though he faces stiff opposition from the Labour Party’s Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour. MC Oluomo had said in a video which went viral on Thursday, “We have begged them, it is not a fight if they did not vote for us. Iya Chukwudi, if you no wan vote for us, please sit down for home oo. We don’t want your vote.” However, in a statement issued on Friday via Instagram, MC Oluomo said he only made a joke at a woman he called Iya Chukwudi and that it was not directed at Igbo voters. His statement reads, “I Alhaji Musiliu Ayinde Akinsanya popularly called Mc-Oluomo, the chairman of Lagos State Park and Garages Management, has refuted a malicious video that has gone viral where I was quoted to (have) threatened Igbo voters in Lagos. “The viral video which was edited to reflect the malicious intent of the false purveyors only captured where I was joking with an Igbo woman that I will not be happy if she stayed in house then vote against my party (referring to APC). “The video was captured when I was holding a meeting with some residents of Oshodi, Isolo and Ejigbo which include Igbos and the woman whom he referred to as ‘Iya Chukwundi’ was in the meeting. The woman in question has however debunked the claim saying herself, to be sincere have a cordial relationship. She stressed that she has been supplying Mc-Oluomo noddles for a long time, showing how cordial their relationships are. “I am surprised that the joke I was cracking with Iya Chukwundi has been twisted to mean I am threatening Igbos in Lagos. I wonder why people would always want to twist your words or a deliberate act to misconstrue my words to suit their selfish interest. The video was edited to only show where I made the joke and they attached a negative message to it.”
