The Niger State Board of Internal Revenue has sealed off the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) and eight banks over tax liability to the tune of N456m.

The Executive Chairman of the board Mohammed Madami Etsu in a press statement made available to newsmen in Minna said the exercise was conducted in line with the provisions of the relevant Tax laws.

Some defaulting organisations Etsu revealed are AEDC Plc with the debt of N45.8m, Aloe Vera International Hotel (N3.9m) and Rashida Restaurant (N3.2m) respectively.

The Chairman noted that all efforts made by the Service to enable the defaulting organisations pay their respective tax liability failed to yield a positive result.

The chairman then called on other debtors to pay their outstanding tax liability to avoid sealing of their offices by the Service, saying the tax drive exercise is a continuous one.
