The spokesman of the Command, Abimbola Oyeyemi told newsmen on Saturday that the incident happened at Bere forest in Onigaari area along Lagos-Ibadan expressway.</p><p></p><p>5. The Pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere, on Saturday, warned that Nigeria may be drifting towards a dictatorial and tyrannical state, urging the Federal Government to shun nepotism, confront insecurity and restructure the country. This was contained in a statement by its acting Leader and National Publicity Secretary, Chief Ayo Adebanjo and Comrade Jare Ajayi.</p><p></p><p>6. The Federal Government is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that the insecurity challenges being presently faced by the country is addressed. The Minister of Defence, Retired Maj.-Gen. Bashir Magashi spoke at the Bi-Annual Leadership Lecture and Graduation of the 14th set of students of the Centre Leadership School/Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) on Saturday in Abuja.</p><p></p><p></p><p>7. The Comptroller of Immigration in Imo, Mr Okey Ezugwu, has urged traditional rulers in the state to ensure that their subjects do not harbour unregistered and unknown migrants in their communities. Ezugwu made the call when he paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman of Imo Traditional Rulers Council, Eze Okeke, at his Palace on Saturday in Owerri.</p><p></p><p>8. There was a sharp decrease in the revenue generated for the country in July as Nigeria recorded decline in the Petroleum Profit Tax (PPT), Companies Income Tax (CIT), Oil and Gas Royalties, Value Added Tax (VAT) as well as Import and Excise Duty. This was disclosed in a communique issued at the end of the virtual meeting of the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) for August 2021.</p><p></p><p>9. Two suspected fraudsters have been arrested in Ondo State by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. Officials of the commission who reportedly arrived in Akure following intelligence arrested the suspects at different locations within the metropolis.</p><p></p><p></p><p>10. Senate Minority Leader and former Deputy Governor of Abia State, Enyinnaya Abaribe, has asked women not to stop speaking up for themselves regarding participation in governance, warning that failure to do so means nobody will take them seriously.
