Nollywood Actress Funke Akindele’s Mum is Dead
** Funke’s older sister, Olubunmi Akindele, announced their mother’s death in a statement on Tuesday.
Funke Akindele’s mother has passed away, as announced by the actress’s older sister, Olubunmi Akindele, in a statement on Tuesday, February 7, 2023.
The statement read, “It is with heavy hearts, but in total submission to God Almighty, that the ADEBANJO and AKINDELE families announce the passing of their daughter, mother, grandmother and sister, DR. R B ADEBANJO-Akindele, which occurred on Tuesday 07 February 2023.
“May her gentle soul begin its rest eternal in peace. Amen. Obsequies in honour of her passing shall be announced in due course.”
Funke Akindele is the running mate to the Lagos PDP governorship candidate, Dr. Abdul-Azeez Adediran (popularly known Jandor).
The Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has sympathised with the deputy governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Akindele, over the death of her mother.
Sanwo-Olu, in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Gboyega Akosile, on Tuesday, said it is difficult to find the right words to condole someone who lost a beloved person, noting that losing mothers is one of the deepest sorrows for man.
