FUEL TANKER EXPLOSION: Commuters advised to take alternative routes, as state government promises to restore normalcy within 24hours
Commuters intending to ply through Total Gardens to Agodi Gate have been advised to use alternative routes as the road has been cordoned off due to a fuel tanker explosion the previous night
The tanker transporting about 40,000 litres of fuel suddenly exploded yesterday night around 8 pm due to the timely intervention of firefighter officers no life was lost but about three vehicles were completely burnt
Commissioner for the environment and natural resources, Mr Abiodun Oni and commissioner for energy, Barrister Seun Akanmu in the company of the commissioner for works and transport, Professor Daud Sangodoyin assured that the state government has taken necessary precautions to prevent the possibility of pollution or any form of contamination as normalcy would return within the next 24 hours
Commander of Oyo state Road Transport Management Agency, Adeoye Adekola explained that officers have been deployed to manage traffic around adjourning routes to prevent gridlock
Governor Seyi Makinde had earlier visited the scene of the incident to evaluate the level of damages
