LAGOS, NIGERIA — The Founder of the SolutionFamily Church, SFC Worldwide, Dr Christian Shola, has publicly declared that the ministry’s official bank account has remained untouched since its inception in 2014, challenging members and the public to independently verify the claim with Zenith Bank.
Speaking in a brief interview with The Punch, the cleric and Pan-African economic advocate stated unequivocally that no withdrawals have been made from the church’s account since it was opened.
“SFC Church account has not recorded any withdrawal since inception. The funds there run into millions. Members can go and verify themselves,” he said, describing the move as part of his commitment to transparency and stewardship.
From Eight Worshippers in Kano to a Global Ministry
SFC Church began on June 1, 2014, at No. 26 Burma Road, Roselle Academy, Sabon-Gari, Kano State, with just eight attendees, including Pastor Isaac Dako and gospel singer Bamidele. Over a decade later, the ministry has grown into a global movement with its headquarters now situated in Lagos, Nigeria.
Observers say the founder’s latest declaration is aimed at setting the record straight amid public scrutiny often faced by religious institutions regarding financial accountability.
Leadership Transition and His Royal Ascension
In a significant development, Dr Christian Shola also revealed plans to name the next General Overseer of SFC Church “very soon,” as he prepares to step down from active pastoral leadership.
The transition, he explained, aligns with his intention to ascend the ancient throne of his forefathers as the Atse-Oritsé of the Omatsola Royal House, Ile Atsemudiara, Igbogidi in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State, Nigeria.
Clarifying misconceptions surrounding the traditional stool, Dr Christian Shola emphasized that the title “Atse-Oritsé” represents devotion to the Supreme God alone and not orishá (the deities), an Atsé has no business with orishá, that's the job of the ooni orishá and the others, Atsé is a sacred throne consecrated on for the Oritsé, Eledumaré, the one Supreme God. Traditional have it that it is forbidden
“It is not a throne of deities. ‘Oritsé’ means the only Supreme God, not orishá. It is traditionally forbidden for an Atsé to bow or worship any deity. The throne is bequeathed to Oritsé alone,” he explained, adding that the position is hereditary within the Atsé-Mudiará Royal lineage and can not be bought or earned outside birthright. The Royal Bloodline.
He further confirmed that his father, the Atwirené of the Omatsola Royal House, has formally bestowed upon him the title “Agbenekuyá,” describing it as his birthright as firstborn son.
Agbenekuyá "means the chosen one, the one chosen and separated for the Glory and Authority of the royal household, the royal custodian, the first born of the father, the authority of the father. So it is destiny and not something you choose.
This is how we've preserved pir identity and unity as Atsemudiara people.
Economist, Author, and Corporate Leader
Beyond the pulpit, Dr Christian Shola is known as an African economic advocate and serves as Chairman Board of Directors of SEMACO Group and PINNACLE Cooperation and others. He is also the author of "AFRICURRENCY, the Path to Economic Integration in Africa", and "My Son, George Eyube, among other works".
As he prepares to transition from ecclesiastical leadership to traditional kingship, Dr Christian Shola maintains that his commitment to Christ, humanity, and economic transformation across Africa remains unwavering.
“So that’s that, All Glory The The Almighty God, i am happy and very grateful to God for everything” he concluded, underscoring what he described as a life guided by destiny, stewardship, and service his household, his kingdom, nation and the kingdom of God.
Further developments are expected as the church announces its incoming general overseer in the coming months.
