The Edo police officer seen in a viral video assaulting civilians and shooting in their direction has been arrested alongside his entire team. Recall that a police officer, said to have previously been attached to the disbanded SARS unit of the police force, was seen slapping a lady and assaulting the male civilians who tried to intervene (read here). The police officer then corked his gun and shot close to where the civilians were standing, causing them to run for their lives. Efforts by the officer's colleagues to rein him in failed and the officer continued to assault and cuss at the travellers while pointing his gun at them. The officer and his colleagues have now been arrested after the video of the assault went viral. They are currently detained at SCIID Edo State Police Command, human rights activist, Harrison Gwamishu, revealed.
