Residents of Sango-Ota in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun have staged a protest on Monday, decrying the deplorable state of roads in the area.

Almost a year after, residents of Sango, Ota, Ijoko, Oju-Ore, Joju and others said the condition of the roads had continued to deteriorate as government pays no attention.
Governor Dapo Abiodun had recently blamed the Federal Government for refusing to cede the roads to him and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos.
On Thursday, the State Government said a team of engineers from the Federal Ministry of Works were on the road for assessment, expressing confidence that renovations would commence soon.
However, it appears residents of Ado-Odo/Ota have run out of patience as they marched to the street on Monday to call out those in positions of authority.
‘Ogun roads in pitiable condition’ – Residents cry to Gov Abiodun
Armed with placards with inscriptions reading; “Fashola, stop looking away”, “Shey na road be this?”, “Don’t allow Gov Abiodun to kill the goose that lays the golden eggs”, “Fix Ota roads” and others, the protesters expressed anger, saying the town has been neglected.
They accused President Muhammadu Buhari, Gov Dapo Abiodun, Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, Senator Tolu Odebiyi and Hon. Jimoh Ojugbele of neglect claiming their actions led to the destruction of the roads.
The residents called on the Deputy Governor, Naimot Salako-Oyedele and other top politicians from the axis not to allow Gov Abiodun ignore the plights of the area where the state generates the highest revenue.
Sango Ota residents also appealed to Abiodun not to fold his hands till everything is destroyed in Ota, lamenting that investors were already migrating.
